HISTORY
From its origins as a small, family business serving the local swim team to it’s present day place as a leader in the event pass industry, Bag Tags has maintained its concern for creating professional products that enhance athlete and event planner experience while providing excellent customer service and timely production.

In 1998, Bag Tags started with a single product and one swim team. With his children heavily involved in swimming at their local high school, then head coach Tom Doyle wanted to create an easy way for the team to set goals and track progress in a form that wouldn’t be ruined when wet. With that in mind, the first product, the USA Swimming Time  Standard Card, was created. These first cards—printed and laminated at Kinkos (thanks for getting us started!)—were designed to attach to the swim team bags and featured the time standards for various distances in US Swimming. While the tags enabled swimmers to conveniently reference their goals, where in the pool or out, they also enabled the swimmers to quickly identify their bags at events. This is initial spark caught fire and soon a new refined product was made and Bag Tags was launched. Not long after, Bag Tags, with their newly refined product and high tech print facility, became the official supplier of the USA Swimming Time Standards Tag. Over 18 years later, our business has grown to include more products and a wide range of clients, but we are still proud partners of USA swimming.

Since its inception, Bag Tags, Inc. has expanded its offerings and client-base, servicing universities, travel companies, sports organizations, and corporations with high-quality luggage tags, event passes, and custom lanyards. Located just above the city of Chicago, Bag Tags is now fully-equipped with an in-house design studio, state-of-the-art print facility, and readily available customer service team. We’ve created ID badges for the US Olympics, event credentials for Walgreens, and tags for a host of major athletic and corporate events. High quality event products and top-notch customer service have become central to our business.
